Welcome to the General Faculty Council Website!
The General Faculty Council (GFC) represents full and part-time non-tenure-track (general) faculty and Senior Professional Research Staff. We exist to represent the interests of these constituents to the University, to advise the University on matters pertaining to these constituents, and to provide service to the University.
On the GFC website you will find information about the Council: Our Bylaws, organizational structure, and current membership; a schedule of meetings, minutes from past meetings, and news relevant to general faculty and Senior Professional Research Staff. The resources tab includes links to key policies and resources relevant to general faculty. We also hope the site will acquaint you with some of the amazing general faculty and Senior Professional Research Staff at the University of Virginia and the kinds of work they do.
